Our Heritage
The Stonehurst Manor is one of the most distinguished country homes built in the Piedmont region during the early 1900s. The home is located on Route 130 just west of the village of Elon. It rests on a knoll with commanding views of both Tobacco Row and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Roman-styled villa was commissioned by the original owner, David Dillard, and designed by the architect, Everette Fauber. It was constructed using native granite stone from Tobacco Row Mountain. Stonehurst was designed to be a fire-proof stone fortress and is considered to be a hallmark of architectural beauty.
The Stonehurst Manor opened its doors in the Spring of 2024, featuring beautiful rolling hills. The 360-degree scenic view highlights the miles of incredible sights the Blue Ridge Mountains have to offer. Each season offers its uniquenatural beauty from an abundance of flowers and blossoms in the Springtime, lush and green rolling hills during the Summer, to the vibrant colors of Fall. Each season provides stunning sunsets to be viewed from one of the numerous porches, terraces, and patios. The Stonehouse Manor venue offers spaces for ceremonies, receptions, and gatherings, featuring a rustic pavilion with restrooms and kitchen.
We are located 12 miles from Lynchburg, 62 miles from Charlottesville, 131 miles from Richmond and 178 miles from Washington, D.C.
